Description

Electrical Scope of Work

The veneer drying and stacking line required significant upgrades to the facility's electrical infrastructure to support the power demands of the new process equipment.
The scope of work included:

  • Electrical engineering and design for high-voltage power distribution and process integration.

  • Installation of a new 25kV switchgear lineup.

  • Installation of two 3000 kVA transformers.

  • Installation of two 5000A power distribution centres (PDCs).

  • Installation of eight motor control centre (MCC) lineups equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Plant and electrical room lighting upgrades, including emergency lighting systems.

  • Power, control, and network wiring for process equipment throughout the facility.

The new electrical infrastructure was designed to provide reliable power distribution and control for conveyors, rollers, blowers, fans, and other process equipment associated with the veneer drying operation.

High-Voltage Power Distribution Installation

A major component of the project involved the installation of new high-voltage electrical infrastructure to replace aging equipment and support future production requirements.

Goodwin installed and integrated the switchgear, transformers, power distribution centres, MCCs, and associated wiring systems required to support the facility's expanded operations. Careful planning and coordination were required to align installation activities with mechanical construction and equipment installation schedules.

The completed system provides the facility with upgraded electrical infrastructure capable of supporting ongoing production demands and future operational requirements.
